Long Time!

I feel like I haven't made a blog post in ages!  But I'm going through quite a rough time at the moment and haven't had much to write about.

I managed to make it to a party last night though!
This is the dress I wore:

I haven't worn this dress in about a year!  I forgot how much I liked it.  I wore it with black leggings.

My life is a mess right now, I really hope it sorts itself out soon.  I didn't think it was possible to be so hurt and sad.

I have a physics essay to write to be in on Monday.  So far I have a total of about 200 words.  Pathetic.  I wish I could concentrate!

And there goes another depressing post from me.  I promise they won't all be depressing!

Summer Is Coming!

Summer is nearly here!  It's not quite warm enough yet but the sun is shining and the sky is blue.  On my travels to uni I like seeing all the flowers that weren't out a few weeks ago.

I have new nails!
I am quite messy doing my right hand though, I'm quite sure I can't do anything left handed!
I should probably do something about that messy blob on my nail.

In other news, I have a new boyfriend!  Would you like to see a picture of him?

He keeps me company at night.  Oh dear, I think I maybe have gone completely mad.

At the moment I am loving this stuff:

Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion.  It smells so good I just want to eat it! It is very nourishing and moisturising.  I've been using it on my hands (which can get incredibly dry), arms and legs and my skin is feeling so soft!  To start off with I was using it on my hands a few times a day and my arms and legs once a day and now my skin feels amazing!  I would definitely recommend this!

Another product that I am loving at the moment is Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean.

I'd read quite a few good things about this cleanser that I had to try it.  It smells quite nice, a bit like what I would expect a clean smell to be like.  I've been using my normal make up removers to remove my eye make up and most of my foundation, then I've been using the Peaches and Clean afterwards to remove the foundation that my make-up wipes didn't get rid of.  I'm not sure if this product would normally stop me from getting spots because I've been under so much stress lately that spots have popped up all over my chin and I don't think anything would have prevented that (except no stress).  But while using this product I have found that the spots have disappeared much quicker than they normally would.

Just a reminder for you all to check out @fashbeautylife on twitter and if anyone would like to follow me on bloglovin you can do so here.

Off I go now to do the masses of uni work I have.  Why is second year so much harder than first year?!

Thanks Mum!

It's horrible when your boyfriend breaks up with you (as I wrote about in my last post).  It's horrible when he makes you think it's your fault.  It's even more horrible when you find out that he cheated on you, and he lied about it, and you find out from someone else.  At his 21st birthday party.  I don't think I've ever cried so much in my life.  I'm going to go all dramatic now and say that my heart feels like it has been ripped out of my chest and stamped on.  I've never felt so hurt and let down and sad in all my life.

Enough about that otherwise I'll start thinking about it and I need to keep my mind busy to stop thinking about it.

My Mum has been great.  When I found out last night I talked to a friend and then phoned my Mum who came to pick me up and took me to her house where we talked for ages.  Today she pretty much forced me to go shopping with her where she bought me some new clothes even though I wasn't in the shopping mood.

This jacket is from the Next sale.  It's my favourite colour!

These other new clothes are from Matalan.  I wouldn't normally shop in Matalan but their selection of clothes quite surprised me!

I haven't even tried on any of the tops yet but hopefully I will like them when they are on.

The days seem so long at the moment.  Spending time with my (ex) boyfriend would usually fill up a good chunk of my day/evening and now I just don't know what to do with myself.  I think I need to find a new hobby!  Or maybe I should just concentrate on my uni work!

If you want something to do then go over to twitter and follow @fashbeautylife where tomorrow I will be tweeting... twittering?  Whatever you call it (I'm not up to date with the modern internet language), I'll be doing it.

It Hurts

It's a Friday night and I've sat here stuffing my face in pizza and doing uni work.

It was a yummy pizza but I have suddenly lost my appetite and could only eat half of it (the picture makes it look bigger than what it is) and I didn't take in any of the studying I've been doing.  I can't tell you what on earth I've been trying to learn for the past hour but I've been trying to keep my brain occupied.  I don't really understand because this is the biggest things I've eaten in the last few days, I've been surviving on pieces on toast now and then, and now my stomach has suddenly grown!

Me and my boyfriend broke up today.  This morning.  Maybe it was yesterday.  I'm not too sure.  But I only found out this morning.  I'm already missing him so much.  We live together (he's gone to his parents for the time being), we wake up together every morning, we spend some time with each other every day, we cook together every day, I tell him everything and anything and he is (was) the person I trusted most.  We had an argument though, I don't really want to go into details.  Some things were said, but not many, he wouldn't talk to me after, and the next thing I knew, this morning it came up on facebook that he was now single.  It's only facebook but the thing that hurt me a lot is that I had to find out through facebook, he wasn't man enough to said it to my face.  He won't talk to me properly until after the weekend.

It's his 21st birthday tomorrow.  I've spent ages choosing the right decorations, learning how to bake the perfect cake and choosing perfect presents - I'm now skint.  I just feel so let down and hurt.  He is having a party in our house tomorrow.  He says he wants me to be there.  So I have to some how (at the moment I have no idea how) go and pretend to be happy.  I'm sitting here alone in the house tonight and I'm just wishing I went back to my parents tonight.

I can't put into words how hurt and upset I feel, but also angry.

I suppose I should keep with the theme of this blog.

This stuff (Soap and Glory You Won't Believe Your Eyes) has been a life saver when I've had to calm down my red and puffy eyes as well as the massive dark circles I have (I just can't sleep at the moment).
My trusty Lily Lolo mineral foundation has also served me well.  Although it comes off more or less straight away when I start crying, when my eyes are dry it covers everything up well.

I now have to think of something to wear tomorrow.  I have spent the last few days looking a mess, but I guess I will leave my outfit choosing until tomorrow.

This evening I have also done my nails. They are a little messy but never mind.

I think I am now going to get into bed with a cup of tea and watch 24 (I'm now on season 3).  I'm at a bit of a loss at what to do but I don't really feel like doing any more work.

Sorry for such a depressing blog post!  I wouldn't normally want to write about something so personal.  But that's what I felt like writing about - it's the only thing on my mind at the moment!

Have a good weekend!

Need More Clothes!

Evening! I have so much uni work to do at the moment as well as so many lectures to attend, I miss the slow pace of last year!

I'm loving Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner at the moment.  I don't usually like using Dove products on my hair, because I feel that it cleans it too much if that is possible and it makes it very fluffy and uncontrollable.  But the oil care conditioner doesn't make my hair fluffy and fly-away.  It doesn't normally take a lot to keep my hair in good condition, but it felt like the ends were becoming a little dry so I chose this conditioner.  I usually wash my hair every other day and after a few uses my hair is now feeling lovely, soft and conditioned again.  I will definitely use this conditioner again!

I really wish I had money at the moment!  I'm pretty skint at the moment seeing as it is the boyfriend's birthday and Mother's Day this month.  I have seen some things in the shops recently that I have liked which I have been trying not to look at.
These from River Island:

And these from Miss Selfridge:

Maybe I should get a job.

Cheap Booze!

Morning!  Or should I say, afternoon.  I feel like such a lazy person at the moment.  I haven't done any uni work in a while which means I need to study extra hard next week to catch up.  I do not like the amount of things I need to learn!!

On Wednesday afternoon, this is what the boot of my car looked like:

Tesco were selling each crate of 12 for £5, so being the students we are, we couldn't resist.  So here is the drink supply for me and two of my housemates.  I have already consumed some of them.  I couldn't stop myself, they were just staring at me.  Alcholic?  Me?  No.

Yesterday I went back home to visit my brother and we went off shopping for a Mother's Day present.  My Mum is a very hard person to buy for and we didn't want to get her the usual jewellery, perfume, bag, plant that we normally do.  We knew she needed a printer so we got her one.  Not very Mother's-Day-ish, but something that she needs and will use.

I also got some other supplies for the boyfriend's birthday:

I've bought one present, and know what other present to get, I've got the decorations, now just to get the card and to decide what cake to make.  This is quite organised for me seeing as his birthday is a week away.  Usually I leave birthdays and Christmas until the day before and then panic.

On Wednesday night while my housemates were watching the football and I was a little bit bored (football doesn't really interest me much!), I decided to do my nails.

Right hand - Without flash

Left hand - With flash

They are actually quite messy, but I don't think they're too bad for a first attempt.  I usually just use one colour and don't bother with any kind of pattern.  I used two coats of Nivea Calcium Power in Soft Rose for the base.  Then two coats of Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in Cool Jade.  Then for the white stripes I used Special Fx Dual Tip Nail Art Pen.  I think I need to have another go and keep practising until I get less messy.

Tomorrow is St Paddy's Day!  So being part Irish, I have to go out and celebrate of course.  Tomorrow I'm going home to see my family, then we're going out for food and then to the pub!

I just wanted to mention that I'm selling a couple of items on Ebay from ASOS that I've never worn before, so I'm trying to clear out stuff that I never use while making some money.  So if anyone is interested they can check them out here and here
These are the items that I am selling:

I'm off to get ready to go to uni now!

Daily Facial Skin Routine

It's so chilly today! I don't like this weather!  You can't plan what you are going to wear tomorrow the night before because one day it is warm and sunny, the next it is quite cold and cloudy.  I wasn't feeling in a dressing up mood today so I just wore an old Reading Festival t-shirt and jeans into uni.  I usually don't like Tuesdays at uni because it is the day for physics lectures, but today I surprised myself with being really engaged and actually understood a lot of what was being talked about.  Maybe I am getting the hang of being a good student after all this time!

Today I am going to write about the products I put on my face everyday.  The other day when I was going through some photos on Facebook after a night out, I suddenly wondered what my first Facebook photo was. I am going to hope that no one ever sees this photo of me, because it really was terrible.  It was back when I had long brown hair, and didn't know how to dress properly, and didn't know how to apply make-up to suit me.  It also make me realise how much weight I had lost since I came to uni.  It's not a drastic amount, but I can tell the difference.
Then one thing caught my attention, my skin has really improved over the last few years.  In photos from years ago you can actually see spots on my skin and it makes me cringe.  My skin being much clearer now has probably got something to do with age, but I think it is also to do with my skin routine.  I know this because if I get out of routine my bad skin starts to come back.

So these are the products I use everyday:

Each morning I wash my face with Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity.  I discovered this product not too long ago and am already loving it!  It smells so fresh and clean - and it tastes of soap - yes, I have accidentally eaten it a few times.  It's got pink bits in the gel which help to clean the face.  When mixed with water and rubbed onto the face, this product lathers up.  I then leave it on my face while doing something else like brushing my teeth.  After rinsing the lather off, I pat my face dry.

Most days I like to use a second face wash so after the Soap and Glory Face Soap, I use Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam.  I have been using this for years and it's great.  You can also get it in a gel which I prefer, but the foam is good too.  It is what it says, it is a light foam that you massage onto your wet face.  It has a very clean smell to it and it leaves my skin feeling very fresh, clean and dirt free.  I like to use this after the Soap and Glory product due to the pink bits in it which I feel cleans my face very well and leaves it feeling smooth.

After patting my face dry I use Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion.  This is another product I have been using for years and I think it is wonderful!!  This is a very strong smelling lotion that you put onto some cotton wool and sweep all over the face.  You can see any dirt and left over make-up coming off on the cotton wool.  It leaves my face feeling so clean and oil free.

Due to the Clinique Clarifying Lotion being so strong, my skin can become dry very quickly if I don't moisturise.  So I always moisturise my face before applying make-up.  My favourite moisturisers are Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturiser and especially Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator.  However I don't actually own either product at the moment due to being a poor student it would be very pricey along with all the other products I use.  So I just stick to Johnson's Baby Lotion which does't do a bad job and it's a lot cheaper and it isn't oily.

The foundation that I use also helps to improve my skin.  I used to use liquid foundation which seemed to give me bad skin, I seemed to try loads of foundations.  I did use the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Make-Up for a long time, which I loved but in the end it just ended up making my skin worse.  So I now use Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation.  The shade I use is Blondie as I have really pale skin.  My skin has gotten so much better since I started using this foundation!  It doesn't dry my skin out, or look cakey or powdery, it makes my skin look nice and smooth and does cover up blemishes.  I also sometimes use the Lily Lolo Mineral Concealer underneath the foundation which gives a good coverage.

So that is my day time routine.  Then at night I always start my taking off my make-up with Johnson's Nourishing Facial Cleansing Wipes.  I have to be careful with the make-up removers I use because some can really irritate my eyes and I feel that some do not remove my foundation so efficiently.  But the Johnson's wipes remove my make-up extremely well.  They feel a little bit oily, but they don't actually make the skin feel oily, just refreshed.

I then wash my face either with the Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity, or if my face is feeling extremely oily or dirty then I use Boots Botanics Enlivening Body Polish.  I like to use this Botanics product on my face at least once a week.  It isn't actually meant for the face and you can get Botanics products that are specifically meant for the face.  This body polish has very rough bits in so you have to be careful, but as long as you are gentle massaging it into the face then it's fine.  After the body polish I always use the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing foam.

I then either use the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion or T-Zone Shine Control Cleansing Wipes.  I use these wipes to give my skin a break from the harsh clarifying lotion as the wipes are a lot more gentle, but they still cleanse my skin well.

Then sometimes I moisturise my skin at night with the Johnson's Baby Lotion if I feel it might be getting dry.

So that is my skin routine!  I really do love how great my skin now looks compared to a few years ago!

Last week I held a give away for two pairs of earrings, and the winner is Alana so thank you to her and everyone who entered and also to everyone who reads my blog!

The items that I was giving away are as following:
1 pair of ladybird earrings:
1 pair of flower earrings (colour of your choice - black, white, baby pink, bright pink, blue, lilac, yellow, green or red):

Ahhh now to decide what to do with the rest of my day!  I could do some studying.  But then I could just bum about and watch 24 - My addiction.  I do plan to go to the gym later.  I haven't been since before Christmas and keep on putting it off so I have decided today is the day to get back into shape!!

The Sun Is Out!

Yesterday it appeared to be a bit sunny. So me and my boyfriend got all excited and went out and bought a barbecue. Then the weather turned not so nice so we didn't even use it. I was feeling quite summery though so I swapped my usual darker jeans and boots for a more summery feeling outfit.

The top is from Primark (£5) and the jeans are from River Island, I've never worn them before and I love wearing new clothes so I was excited to wear them.  I also wore the shoes from New Look that I've been looking forward to wearing for ages:

Yes, I know I have big feet.

I am addicted to watching 24 at the moment.  I'm now onto the second series and it just keeps getting better and better.  I just can't stop watching it, I tell myself I will stop and get on with something else, but then I just keep on watching it.
I do have a physics essay to write.  I don't even understand what I have to do.  AHHHHH!!!
I have decided that I am going to make a cake for my boyfriend's 21st.  I've never made a cake before in my life except helping my Mum when I was younger.  This should be interesting and perhaps a disaster. So in the next week I'm going to be looking at recipes.  If I choose a simple one it can't be that hard.  Right?

The other week I bought some Soap and Glory You Won't Believe Your Eyes Serum.  I've been using it quite a bit and I really like this product.  I've been using it night and morning and it definitely makes a difference.  It's got three rollerballs on the end and you squeeze it and roll it under the eyes.  I then rub it in gently with my fingers.  The dark circles under my eyes really have decreased in appearance.  I do find though that this serum gives me a metallic purple colour after I have applied it so when applying this during the day I always put make up on top, but I would do this anyway so it doesn't bother me.

I can see today being a lying in bed day, even if that does mean writing my essay while lying in bed.  It's what Sundays are meant for!

Oh and while I remember.  I have some clothes in my wardrobe that have never been worn so I thought I would try and sell them to make some monies.  I have put the first dress on here if anyone is interested in taking a look :)

Busy, Busy

I've been so busy lately!  It feels like I haven't stopped.  On Thursday night I went out for a 21st birthday.  I hadn't been on a night out in ages so I was looking forward to it and it was quite a good night.  So hungover Friday though so I spent pretty much all day in bed and ended up missing my lectures!  On Saturday I went shopping to Bluewater shopping centre.  I had never been there before but I was quite impressed!  Saturday night I went off to the cinema to see Project X (it made me want to throw a massive house party!).  On Sunday I went to get my eyes tested - I was almost certain they were going to say I needed glasses, but no, luckily that was not the case.  Or maybe not so luckily because I can't actually see as well as I used to!  I ended up doing work for the rest of the day on Sunday trying to catch up.  On Monday I was meant to go to lectures all day but I overslept and ended up missing them - this seems to becoming a re-occurrence!  So I ended up sleeping pretty much all day - I was crazily tired anyway.  I had the day off uni today and I spent all day doing work.  Almost caught up now!

While I was shopping on Saturday I bought some jeans in the sale from Miss Selfridge and a lovely mint coloured top from Vero Moda (pictures to come!)  I didn't know this shop existed!  I think I had bought one of their dresses from ASOS before but I hadn't heard much about it before.  So I've been browsing on their website and have seen some things I really would like!

Lazy batwing top, £20.78

Mini Dress Midnight Blue, £24.94

But I can't buy any of these, I just have to look for now, because I have to save up for the boyfriend's 21st birthday present.  WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA TO GET.  And it's in less than 3 weeks.  Eeeeek!!  Panic!!

I really want a birdcage.  One like this:

But I have no use for one.  I really want one though.  I also have no space for one.  They just look so... nice!

I think I am slowly becoming nocturnal now I don't have to wake up early in the mornings.  I am becoming a proper student!

Things That Make Me Happy: List 2

It's Monday again!  So that means it's time for another list of things that make me happy!

1. Snow
I got so excited when it started snowing yesterday.  In fact, I get excited every time it snows!

2. Hot Chocolate
Mmmm I want some now.

3. Lostprophets
Ohhhh I love this band.  A lot.  They make me extremely happy listening to them and singing at the top of my voice.

4. My Boyfriend
I don't think I need to explain this one :)

5. Helping People
By this I mostly mean when I'm on placement.  My placement is in a hospital which constantly requires me to  help and care for people.  I love it when I do a successful job at this, I love it when I make people smile and I love it when they tell me I've done a good job.  I just like knowing I've made a difference to someone, however small that difference may be.

6. Smiling
Whether it is smiling at someone or smiling because of something, it always gives me a good feeling.

7. Driving
I just love having control of the car and the endless possibilities of where I could drive to.  I also love driving fast.

8. Friends
Old friends and making new ones.

9. Travelling
I love visiting new places.  I love the feeling when you step onto land you've never stepped onto before, and I love exploring these new places.

10.  Succeeding at University
I do like studying and learning new things, but I am unable to sit still for very long and have such a short concentration span so I find it very difficult to sit down a study for hours... which my course needs a lot of.  So I love it when I actually learn a load of new information and am able to remember it.

Give Away!

So I'm going to do my first ever give away.
It's only a very little one, two pairs of rather cute earrings. (New and unused of course!)   I didn't expect many people to read my blog at all, so thank you to everyone who does! I'm a bit obsessed with earrings at the moment so this is the perfect thing for me to give away.

The first pair are a cute, wooden ladybird pair of stud earrings as shown below.

The next is a pair of flower earrings.  The winner will have a choice of colours (bright pink, black, baby pink, white, lilac, cream, yellow, blue or green).

To enter, all you need to do is:
1. Follow me
2. Leave a comment with an email address or link to your blog so I can contact you

It would also be great if you could:
1. Follow me on bloglovin here
2. Follow me on twitter here

The winner will be selected at random.  You have until next Sunday to enter!

Urgh, I am so tired right now.  I feel like I'm not making much sense.  Hopefully my brain will start working later on and I can do a proper blog post :)
